MPD Makes Arrest in Northwest Robbery

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in a robbery that occurred in Northwest.

On Friday, March 21, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., two suspects approached a group of people who were standing in the 1400 block of Irving Street, Northwest. The suspects started an argument with the group and snatched a pair of headphones from one of them. The suspects fled the scene on a bike.

On Monday, April 14, 2025, one of the suspects, a 13-year-old juvenile male of Northwest, D.C., turned himself into the Sixth District police station. He was arrested pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court custody order charging him with Robbery (Snatch).

This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
