The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in the assault with intent to commit robbery in the Shaw neighborhood.
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at approximately 6:51 a.m., Third District officers responded to the report of an assault in the 1400 block of 7th Street, Northwest. The suspect approached a woman at a bus stop and assaulted her in an attempt to obtain her property. The suspect fled the scene after the victim pushed him away. Officers canvassed the area, located the suspect, and arrested him without incident.
As a result of the detective’s investigation, 43-year-old Alonzo Crockett of no fixed address, was charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.
