The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in a shooting that occurred in Southeast.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the victim, a rideshare driver, took the suspect and another passenger to the 3300 block of 10th Place, Southeast with an agreement to drive them back to their pickup location. After waiting past the agreed upon time, the victim drove away. While leaving, the suspect appeared and fired a handgun causing damage to the victim's vehicle. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.
As a result of the detectives’ investigation, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 18-year-old Daveon Hebb, of Fort Washington, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault With A Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Destruction of Property.
