MPD Investigating Southeast Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast.

At approximately 11:02 p.m., on Saturday, March 29, 2025, Seventh District officers responded to the 3300 block of 10th Place, Southeast, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, not conscious and not breathing, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased.

The decedent has been identified as 18-year-old Jose Walters of Southeast, D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a violent (crime committed in the District of Columbia.
